Initially Karol Rumiński (drums) joined this duo, followed by Jacek Welz (synth) and Bartek Gołaszewski (vocals & bass), forming the band’s first lineup. The band’s journey began with the arrangement of the suite “ECHOES,” which was commemorated in the band’s name. During this early period the band focused on songs from Pink Floyd’s early era (including “Fat Old Sun,” “Green is the Colour”). Even then the band placed significant importance on an analog guitar sound using only tube amplifiers and analog guitar effects.

Due to Bartek Gołaszewski’s departure from Poland his place on bass was taken by Tomek Burzyński, followed by Darek Chojnacki. During this period the band’s vocalist was Kasia Łyszkowicz, preceded briefly by Kuba Nowak. Robert Filcek left the band in May 2013. From that point on the band was led by Jarek Kuropatwiński. In January 2014 Tymon Czerwiński joined the band and under his musical direction the band began working on “Bydgoszcz THE WALL Show. Polish Road to Freedom.” Later on Piotr Jaracz replaced Karol Rumiński on drums. In order to present the music from the album “THE WALL” faithfully, the band needed to expand the lineup. Keyboardists Tomek Kotowski and Mateusz Szałkiewicz joined the band, replacing Jacek Welz. Finally Kamil Kuliński, a vocalist from Toruń became the band’s lead singer. This marked the formation of the “second” lineup during the production of “THE WALL” show.

On October 25, 2014 at the Polish Theatre in Bydgoszcz the band premiered their music and film performance “Bydgoszcz THE WALL Show. Polish Road to Freedom”. During this show the entire “THE WALL” album was performed live, accompanied by a specially prepared film by Marcin Sauter. The band was joined by Mezza Voce children’s choir and Bydgoszcz Symphony Orchestra. The artistic director of the entire project was Jarek Kuropatwiński. As a part of the show he “walled up” the entrance to the Polish Theatre in Bydgoszcz. Unable to enter the theatre, the audience became unwitting participants in a happening, where they were stopped and checked by “MO” officers.

“Bydgoszcz THE WALL Show. Polish Road to Freedom” was presented between 2014 and 2020 in various cities across Poland (Bydgoszcz, Toruń, Grudziądz, Poznań, Gdańsk), including prestigious venues such as the Earth Hall in Poznań (with over 1,000 tickets sold), the European Solidarity Centre in Gdańsk and the defensive walls of Grudziądz for an audience of over 3,000 people. During this time the band also supplemented “THE WALL” performance with other Pink Floyd songs (including “High Hopes,” “What Do You Want From Me,” “Money,” “Shine On You Crazy Diamond”).

In 2017 the film directed by Jarek Kuropatwiński “Bydgoszcz THE WALL Show. Polish Road to Freedom” was released on DVD. It presented Poland’s road to freedom (1939-1989) set to the music of “THE WALL.” The film premiered at Adria theatre cinema in Bydgoszcz and its scenes were later projected during live performances of “Bydgoszcz THE WALL Show”. A company MMP Neupack produced the wall for the band, which not only served as a backdrop and prop for the concerts, but also as a screen for synchronized film projections.

In 2022 the band began preparations for a new concert tour, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the “Dark Side of The Moon” album. During this period Przemek Różyczka (keyboards) joined the band, additionally supported on keyboards by the band’s drummer, Piotr Jaracz and the guitarist, Tymon Czerwiński. The band named the tour “Dark Side of the Moon & Wish You Were Here.” During this tour the band presents both albums in full. A specially created film is presented in the background during the band’s perfmormance. At this time Agnieszka Kensik joined the band, performing “The Great Gig in the Sky” alongside Kasia Łyszkowicz-Jankowska. The tour premiered in Iława (2023).

During the “Bydgoszcz THE WALL Show” period and the “Dark Side of the Moon & Wish You Were Here” tour, fans have consistently praised the band’s high-quality sound, closely resembling the original. This is the result of years of research into Pink Floyd’s sound (both studio and live). Both guitarists play on Stratocasters similar to those used by Gilmour in the early 1970s and on replicas of his Hiwatt amplifier, along with various analog guitar effects that define Pink Floyd’s signature sound. Also the bassist plays a bass guitar identical to the one Roger Waters used. The band does not use modern digital multi-effects, which are rightly seen in the professional music world as cheap substitutes for less demanding guitarists. The band’s sound is inspired by Pink Floyd’s live performances, heard both on official releases and on bootlegs.

The Echoes Project was officially formed in January 2012, but its roots go back to earlier years and are connected to the joint work of guitarists Robert Filcek and Jarek Kuropatwiński on Pink Floyd’s music.
